Is it the end yet?

So I need to get started on the Thoreau assignment. Someone posted a question in courseweb about it, and now naturally I'm a little bit nervous and apprehensive if people are having difficulties with getting started. Like everything with me, once I know what I'm doing and fully understand it, I'm good as gold. Hoping that someone will post a response so maybe I can get started on it tomorrow. I honestly just want to be finished with this assignment so bad. In someone else's blog, he or she wrote that they would be taking LIS 2700 in the fall and were concerned about the ton of group work that is required for the course (after the first couple of weeks it seems like nothing but group work). I was really lucky because all three of my groups had awesome people in it, and everyone pulled their own weight. It certainly can be tough, but you need to go in hoping for the best.

I'm a trifle annoyed because no one seems to know if LIS 2600 is meeting for fast track weekend. I surely hope that we are NOT. Fast-track weekend is a fine enough idea for the fast-track people, but when you are a full-time student and are already attending your three other classes on campus, it's a bit much not to mention that the Saturday of FT weekend sucks beyond comprenhension. In the spring I was basically in classes for more than nine hours. If you're a fast track student it's not as bad because you know that you will only be meeting for two classes (somewhat manageable). But meeting for three or even four?? In a schedule sent out by Sue Alman, there was no time listed for LIS 2600 so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I applied for a job last week and am still anxiously waiting to hear something. By the time this semester ends I will be 2/3 done with the program so I figured if a good enough position opened up, I should take the opportunity and then just downgrade to p/t for my remaining four courses needed for the degree. Nothing has transpired so I'm most bummed and disheartened about that though.

Happy birthday dad, #61-tu eres viejo :)
